New England GreenStart Disclosure Label
Electric Power Suppliers are required by the Department of Public Utilities to provide customers with a disclosure label. The label enables consumers to look at the energy sources, air emissions and information about the supplier in order to make a more informed choice of a power supplier. Consumers can compare energy labels to make the best choice based on their energy needs.
- 1. These figures reflect the power that we have contracted to provide for Winter 2010.
- 2. If you choose New England GreenStartSM 50%, the New England GreenStartSM 100% resource mix will be applied to 50% of your electricity usage. The remainder of your resources will come from National Grid/Massachusetts Electric’s Standard Offer or Default Service mix, which may vary over time.
- 3. Small Hydroelectric is defined as facilities which have: 1) Output equal to or less than 30 megawatts, 2) Been relicensed by FERC after 1986, or 3) Certification by the Low Impact Hydropower Institute (www.lowimpacthydro.org). All GreenStart hydro is Low Impact Hydropower Institute certified.
