Green Power Partners

To help further the reach of our green power message, Mass Energy has established a Green Power Partnership program with a number of local and regional organizations. These partners stand behind Mass Energy’s New England GreenStart and New England Wind Fund programs. These groups will assist Mass Energy in promoting our green energy products to their members and to communities across Massachusetts. In addition they ensure that our green power products continue to reflect the values and priorities of the local environmental community. Mass. Audubon Society
Massachusetts Audubon Society is the largest conservation organization in New England, concentrating its efforts on protecting the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife. Mass Audubon protects more than 30,000 acres of conservation land, conducts educational programs for 250,000 children and adults annually, and advocates for sound environmental policies. www.massaudubon.org

Environmental League of Massachusettes
The Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM) is dedicated to protecting the air, water, and land for the people of the commonwealth. ELM is an independent, member-based, non-profit organization that has been serving Massachusetts citizens for over 100 years. www.environmentalleague.org

HealthLink
HealthLink is a Massachusetts North Shore citizens group working to improve public health. Their mission is to protect and improve public health by reducing and eliminating pollutants and toxic substances from our environment, through research, education, and community action. www.healthlink.org

Massachusetts Public Interest Research Group (MASSPIRG)
With a thirty-year history and over 50,000 members throughout the Commonwealth, MASSPIRG is one of the state's preeminent public interest advocacy organizations. MASSPIRG has been a leader in calling for the clean-up of Massachusett’s “Filthy Five” power plants, and clean air enforcement is currently the top priority of their advocacy and outreach work. www.masspirg.org

Salem Alliance for the Environment
Salem Alliance for the Environment (SAFE) is a group dedicated to addressing environmental issues through education, advocacy, and community organizing. Their goal is to assure that Salem is a healthy and prosperous place in which to live. www.salemsafe.org

Clean Water Action
Founded in 1972, Clean Water Action (CWA) is a 700,000 member, national organization of diverse people and groups, joined together to protect our environment, health, economic well-being, and community quality of life. Goals of CWA include: clean, safe and affordable water; prevention of health-threatening pollution; creation of environmentally-safe jobs and businesses; and empowerment of people to make democracy work. CWA organizes strong grassroots groups and coalitions, and campaigns to elect environmental candidates and solve environmental and community problems.

Coalition for the Environment and Jewish Life
The Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life was founded in 1993 to promote environmental education, scholarship, advocacy, and action in the American Jewish community. COEJL is sponsored by a broad coalition of national Jewish organizations and has organized regional affiliates in communities across North America. COEJL is the Jewish member of the National Religious Partnership for the Environment. www.coejl.org

Green Decade Coalition of Newton
Green Decade Coalition is a local environmental activist group which consists of people living or working in Newton and neighboring communities, including representatives of community organizations, institutions and businesses. They are working together to create sustainable solutions to environmental problems facing the city of Newton and our world. Green Decade’s mission is to create a city in better balance with the natural world by making significant, measurable improvements in the way Newton uses resources. www.greendecade.org

Mass. Climate Action Network
Massachusetts Climate Action Network (MCAN) is dedicated to halting the threat of global climate change. MCAN is striving to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, principally carbon dioxide (CO2), throughout the state. The MCAN Network is composed of local and statewide groups that have joined together in a cooperative effort. www.massclimateaction.org

New Ecology, Inc.
New Ecology, Inc. ("NEI") is a local non-profit organization founded in 1999 to spearhead sustainable development in distressed urban communities in New England. NEI has developed an innovative program responsible for several important on-the-ground accomplishments, promoting strategies that represent best practice in the emerging area of sustainable development. www.newecology.org

Sierra Club of Massachusetts
The Sierra Club has 27,000 members in Massachusetts, and more than 700,000 members nationwide, dedicated to the protection of the Earth's natural environment. The Massachusetts Chapter currently has 5 active groups serving much of the commonwealth, with volunteer leaders who are active on local environmental issues. Toxics Action Center
Since 1987, Toxics Action Center has helped more than 400 neighborhood groups across New England fight toxic pollution in their communities. Toxics Action Center works on a variety of issues including cleaning up hazardous waste sites, stopping proposed landfills and incinerators, stopping the spraying of pesticides, pressuring companies to reduce their toxic chemical use, and other issues that threaten the health and safety of residents, neighborhoods and the environment. www.toxicsaction.org

Tufts Climate Initiative
The Tufts Climate Initiative (TCI) is steering Tufts University towards a cleaner energy path. Tufts University is committed to meeting or beating the Kyoto target for university-related greenhouse gas emissions. Given the university's projected growth rate, this translates into a 30% emissions reduction by the year 2012. Tufts and TCI continue to contribute to an improved public understanding of climate issues through student involvement and increased research in engineering, science, economics, and policy. www.tufts.edu/tie/tci/
