Fair Prices and Full Service
Here’s how the heating oil program works. The Heating Oil Alliance is a membership organization that operates like a buyers club or a co-op. We use the buying power of our 7000 members across the state to negotiate better prices for consumers.
When you join Mass Energy, we will assign you to one of our 26 local, full service oil dealers. We’ll find the dealer that best fits your needs. Once you’ve been assigned a dealer, you can take deliveries or receive burner service anytime.
How good are the savings? Last year, our average member saved about 23 cents per gallon against that state survey price. Over the course of the heating season, that totals about $150. All told, our members combined saved over $1 million last year!
Our program works because our contracts with dealers limit how much our dealers can charge the retail consumer above the wholesale price they pay for heating oil. Over the past twenty-two years, members using our program have saved between 15 and 30 cents a gallon versus the regular retail price while enjoying the benefits of full-service dealers.
Our staff collects the wholesale prices and establishes our prices every day. You may call at anytime to see what price your dealer is charging for that day. Feel free to call and confirm our price for any day you accepted a delivery. Or you may check out today’s prices for what our average price is for the day.
And, as a member of Mass Energy, you can be confident in your dealer. All of our dealers are full service, with a live voice answering the phone during the business day and staff on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have checked references on all of our dealers and have made sure that they do not have a history of complaints with the state Attorney General's office and the Better Business Bureau.
Pay Your Way
When you accept an oil delivery at the reduced Mass Energy price, you always have 30 days to pay. But we give you other options—you can pay your bills the way that meets your budget best. If you join early in the heating season, you can sign up to spread your oil payments out across the year, eliminating the large oil bills that can fall after the holidays. Or you can pay each bill within a few days of receiving it and enjoy a further discount.
The Cheapest Energy
But our savings go beyond our daily prices and convenient payment options. As a member, we will show you how to reduce your heating and electricity bills by using energy more efficiently in your home. And we’ll give you tips to keep your heating system running at its best, saving you money and sparing you headaches. We’ll even point you in the direction of free and discounted resources available for cutting down energy use. Our members also have access to our website and quarterly publications, and our staff are always available to answer any questions. The cheapest energy, of course, is the energy you don’t use. No other oil company provides these benefits.
